Life is Like a Camera! - Russell

Okay, "Say 'cheese,' Smile, Put on your happy face!" It is time to have those "Kodak Moments" - the ones you will cherish far after our weekend of memories at our 50th Class Reunion. Jeanine Messinger Russell has the right idea - a Class Photo of EVERYONE at our Reunion, Elementary School Photos of our classmates back in the 1950s, and what could be more fun than a PHOTO BOOTH with crazy hats, over-sized sunglasses, frames, and other fun props to take a pause in your conversations with classmates to have those cherished photographic memories that can go back home with you long after the weekend of our reunion? You will want to make plans to be part of this fun activity.

"Focus On What Is Important And You’ll Capture It Perfectly”

Dear Classmates,

I've been asked to do a newsletter on the photography events that will take place at our 50th  reunion. We will have a photographer and an assistant for both Friday and Saturday nights.

However, if you are not coming to the reunion, you’ll need a good excuse and a note from  your doctor. The following reasons have been tried and are not acceptable.

I'm overweight....Rebuttal: You're not alone.

I don't look as good as I would like. I am bald, have wrinkles, saddlebags, gray hair and no one will recognize me...Rebuttal: Guess what! You won't recognize anyone else either. We have all decided that looking 20 years old again is just not worth the effort, money, nor time.

I was not in a popular clique in school and am afraid I won't fit in...Rebuttal: Now that we're older and smarter, these cliques have dissolved.   The only cliques you'll notice at the reunion will be the sound of your joints as you walk around.

I'm a different person than I was in high school...Rebuttal:  Lucky for you, we ALL are. We could only have improved.

Seriously, with reflections and memories of the last 50 years – repeat… “50 years” - getting closer to our September 11th - 12th date,” the events of our reunion promise to deliver to all who come, a journey back in time and place.

Who doesn't remember Caldwell’s, going around the drag afforded only by the price of gas, $.25 a gallon, the Capri Theater on Friday night, and the Halls of PHS filled with students rushing to their next class? The 60s was a wonderful time and so are we.

Come share with us through photography that will be taken on both Friday and Saturday  nights. Friday night will consist of 2 hours of candid picture taken on the outside patio as  we mix with friends and classmates. Don’t miss the opportunity to see the 1965 Class  Picture that has been enlarged and available for you to sign.

Saturday night the photographers will take photos in the main event room throughout the evening. Both Friday and Saturday general candid photos will be downloaded to our PHS website for all to enjoy at no extra cost.

A class picture will be taken in the Hilton Hotel Lobby at 8:30PM in front of the grand double staircase as our backdrop.   Pretty impressive! Elementary group pictures will also be taken at this time since all classmates are together. Class pictures will be available for sale and will be sent directly to your home. Photo size and price to be determined but will not be expensive.

Also on the agenda for Saturday night only is a photo room set up close to the main event room which will consist of props and backdrop.   Couples, groups and anyone interested in having a picture of themselves and friends can dress up with the special props & set provided - the crazier the better. The photo room will be open for 3 hours unless more time is needed. These photos will be sold onsite with price to be determined as a souvenir for you and your friends and will be mailed direct to you after the reunion. (Picture size estimated to be 4” x 6” only.)

Once again, both Friday and Saturday general candid shots will be downloaded to our PHS website for all to enjoy at no extra costs.

Remember, no excuses not to attend this very special 50th reunion. As a member of the reunion committee, we look forward to seeing each of you and remember,

Smile, You’re On Candid Camera

See you in September,

Jeanine Messinger Russell
